Encrypting your Mac computer disk is crucial for security and privacy. As an example, if you loose your computer and someone gains physical access to your hard disk, they can read your files unless these files are encrypted with FileVault, a native macOS functionality.
Follow the easy steps in my video to learn how to encrypt your Mac computer drive with FileVault to prevent unauthorized access to your files.
I will also show you how to turn off FileVault in case you no longer need it and most importantly, how to save a recovery key to decrypt your drive if you need to.
Important notes:
- Do not loose your Recovery Key
- Do not turn off your mac while encryption or decryption are in progress
