Using Linux on WIndows 10 has never been easier. Microsoft implemented a subsystem for Unix into Windows 10 that gives the access to Bash and to the command prompt. To use it, you need to enable it in Windows features and install the free Ubuntu App from Microsoft store.

If you want to use a full flavored version of Ubuntu on Windows 10. Microsoft integrated an easy way to install it automatically in HyperV following a simple Wizard.

Note: Hyper-V is only available on Windows 10 Enterprise, Pro and Education

If you don’t have a version of Windows 10 that supports HyperV, you can always install a free virtualization software like Virtual Box on top of Windows 10 and then install a Linux distribution on it using a VM. This last option is not covered in this video.
