Safely flashback ASUS BIOS

Flash Your ASUS Motherboard BIOS Without a CPU or RAM

If your brand-new ASUS motherboard won’t boot with your latest processor, BIOS Flashback is the fix you need. This built-in feature lets you update your BIOS firmware directly from a USB drive — no CPU, no RAM, and no display required.

What You’ll Need

  • A FAT32-formatted USB drive (2–32 GB)

  • Your motherboard model name

  • The BIOS firmware file downloaded from asus.com

How It Works

Download the firmware, rename it using ASUS’s included Renamer tool, and copy it to the root of your USB drive. Plug the drive into the dedicated BIOS Flashback port on the back of the motherboard, hold the Flashback button for 3 seconds until the LED blinks, and wait. When the LED turns off, you’re done.

Just remember: don’t interrupt the process — cutting power mid-flash can permanently brick your board.
