Install and run Kali Linux live on a USB drive with persistence step by step

If you want to use Kali Linux without installing it on your computer, you can follow the instructions in this easy step by step tutorial to install and run Kali Linux Live on a USB thumbdrive.

You will need :

  1. A USB thumb drive 8GB or more, checkout the one in this post
  2. To download the live version of Kali Linux from Kali.org
  3. To downlowan the Rufus utility from Rufus.ie

Careful, all the files on the USB thumb drive will be deleted. So make sure you are using a USB drive that doesn’t contain any data you want.
